The Call That Changes Everything
Imagine someone you deeply admire, maybe a world leader, a renowned mentor, or even your childhood hero, sends you a personal message: “Call me. I am waiting.” I imagine Tsitsi Masiyiwa, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, or Sarah Jakes. My heart would definitely skip a beat. I would clear my schedule, rehearse what to say, maybe even check my outfit, even if it is just a phone call. I would make sure my phone is charged, my environment is quiet, and my mind is ready. Why? This is not just any call, it is the opportunity of a lifetime
Now pause…
The Creator of the universe, the Ancient of Days, the Mighty Elohim, the One who flung the stars into space, whispers this same invitation in Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to Me.” This is not a cryptic message or a once-in-a-lifetime fluke. This is an invitation from the throne room of heaven. An open door, a divine hotline that never goes to voicemail and yet, how often do we rush past it distracted by notifications, weighed down by our own logic, dulled by routine or disheartened by delay
The Holy One is saying, “Call Me.” Not someday. Not once. Anytime. All the time.
What a tragedy it is when we take this lightly. Imagine the excitement if we truly grasped who is asking us to call. He is not bored, not busy and definitely not brushing us off. He does not stare at the ringing line like we do sometimes, debating whether to answer and then silencing the call and pretending we did not hear it. No. He does not treat your voice like spam or your cry like background noise. He wants you to call. He longs for it and He promises to answer not with recycled advice or generic comfort but with great and unsearchable things. Things no algorithm or human wisdom can unravel. Secrets that break cycles, strategies that rebuild ruins and revelations that recalibrate your entire path. He wants to tell you the “why” behind your waiting, the “what next” behind your breakdown and the “how” to your heart’s desperate cry.
We must call. Not passively, not casually but like someone who knows that the One on the other end holds galaxies and still has time to answer you by name. Like a child running into a parent’s arms with awe, with hunger, with bold expectation because this is not just a call that might change your life. It absolutely will.
Here is the wonder…
He does not just say “Call Me” He says, “I will answer.” This is not the language of a distant deity. This is the heart cry of a Father who delights in being known. A King who holds the nations but still makes space for your whisper. A Shepherd who calls His sheep by name. This is not transactional. It is deeply relational. Not only does He answer, He reveals. “Great and unsearchable things.” That means your call will unlock mysteries not because you are eloquent but because He is generous. Things you have wept over. Things your intellect could not decode, He already holds them and He is ready to hand them to you. Let that sink in, Heaven waits for your voice and when you do call, something sacred happens. You do not just hear answers, you encounter Him and that is the real treasure. Not just what He says, but who He is. In your fear, you meet Peace. In your weakness, you touch Power. So yes, prepare your heart. Come with reverence, come expectant because when He says, “Call Me,” He is not just inviting you into a conversation. He is inviting you into transformation and regeneration.
We are now into our fourth month of the year. Maybe you started with vision, with clarity, with fire in your bones but somewhere along the way, the winds shifted. Maybe it feels like time is slipping fast like water on a slippery slope. Goals unmet, prayers seemingly unanswered, momentum lost and you are quietly wondering if it is even worth it anymore. Please do not give up. Call Him today. Not because you have earned it and definitely not because you have perfect words but because He invited you. Right there in Jeremiah 33:3, He is reaching out: “Call to Me, and I will answer you…”
This is the moment where surrender becomes strength. Where your whisper becomes a weapon. Where your tears turn into testimonies.
Call, even with the last bit of hope you have, even through the frustration and even if it is just a sigh or a groan too deep for words. He hears, He answers and He reveals what you could never see on your own. Do not let April end without hearing Heaven speak. Call.
Better yet, we can begin now…
Abba Father, You said to call and here I am. I may not have the words, I may not have the strength but I know You are listening and ever ready to answer. I am calling not just for answers, but for You. I need You. Thank You for loving me enough to invite me close. I receive Your voice, Your wisdom, and Your peace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
